PNC Global Investment Servicing Home

PNC Global Investment Servicing has a 30+ year track record of meeting client needs through innovation and an expanding array of investor, securities and information services.

1973-1979
Our fund servicing business began in 1973 with the launch of fund accounting and custody services for '40 Act clients. By 1979, we had experienced significant growth, adding partnership servicing, banking transaction services and full-service transfer agency to our offering mix.

1980-1989
During the 1980s, we continued to enhance our services and provide increased flexibility to our clients, adding a remote transfer agency service option and acquiring Applied Mailing Services, which has grown to become our Advanced Output Solutions unit.

This decade also marked a major milestone in our history with the introduction of the industry’s first third-party subaccounting platform. This robust technology, increasingly the investor recordkeeping solution of choice for brokerage firms, has continued to lead the market from 1987 to the present.

1990-1999
The 1990s saw a number of new initiatives as we anticipated and responded to new industry trends, including the demand for global and alternative investment services. We established our first international unit in Dublin Ireland, set up a dedicated global hedge fund servicing unit, and became the first third-party administrator for registered hedge funds.

We branched out in other areas as well, introducing retained asset account servicing and our fund accounting/custody data warehouse. In addition, we made significant investments in building our capabilities. The acquisition of Rodney Square extended our bank services, and the purchase of Investor Services Group moved us to a leadership role for transfer agency capabilities.

2000-2008
This recent period in our history has been our most active to date, filled with innovation, new offerings, and strategic acquisitions - all reflecting our ongoing commitment to bring clients the solutions that will help them manage daily tasks effectively and identify opportunities to grow their businesses for long-term success.
